Design

The overall style of our houses is best described as “mountain farmhouse”. Utilizing open floor plans, high ceilings, and abundant windows, they are designed to feel larger than their square footage would suggest.
A natural setting is important to me, so our houses are situated on lots that still have large, mature trees and a privacy-providing undergrowth. Large decks and lots of windows help blur the lines between inside and out. These houses are designed to harmonize with nature, not displace it. The facades are low key and not intended to attract attention to themselves. In short, these are houses for living and making memories.
Materials

Traditional and modern materials are combined to create durable yet attractive spaces. There is a special emphasis on products that are low maintenance. All materials used are designed to compliment each other, rendering a total that is greater than the sum of its parts. I seek out quality products that receive great reviews and have proven to perform. This is particularly necessary with items like appliances and fixtures, where an overwhelming number of choices makes it difficult to differentiate the good from the bad.
Simply put, you will see a lot of wood in our houses, both natural or painted. White is the dominate color and is complemented by unpainted cedar, pine, and oak. Wood is sustainable, classic, and beautiful, and provides the perfect feel for a Mountain dwelling.
Craftsmanship

The design and materials used in a house are almost irrelevant if they aren’t properly assembled and utilized by competent professionals. The nicest plan and finishings will be rendered useless and ugly if they are not given the dedication and attention they deserve. At MaxNashville we strive to bring out the best of our designs and materials, taking the time to do the work right, refusing to cut corners for the sake of saving time or money. We work with some of the best subcontractors around and hold them accountable to do the fantastic work that they are capable of. While much of the trades work (foundation, framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, septic system, and gutters) is subcontracted out, the balance is done by me with the occasional help of top notch assistants. Not only do I love the work, but I am focused on performing to the best of my abilities.
